Restaurant Review : Beancross Farm ( Falkirk)

  

Restaurant  Introduction

Beancross Farm is a Restaurant which is situated within a hotel in Falkirk, this restaurant is situated at West Beancross Farm, Polmont, Falkirk FK2 0XS.

Within this restaurant on the menu there is Starters, Main , Desserts and Drink and each consists of the following:

• Starters: Visitors can choose from options such as Soup of the Day, Classic Caesar Salad, Haggis pakora and much more.

• Mains: This restaurant has many options that you could expect to find on a “Traditional Pub Menu” this includes Steak Pies, Lasagne, Burgers, Steak, Sandwiches and more

• Dessert: The Dessert menu featured mouth watering dessert options such as cheesecakes, Sundaes, Waffles, Sticky Toffee Pudding and much more delicious options

• Drinks: The Drinks Menu was what visitors can expect to see on traditional bar menus with options such as Wine, Spirts, Shots, Cider, Beers, Soft drinks and much more meaning that there was a choice for every age group/ occasion

As it can be seen from the choice of menus there are options for everyone and provides visitors with a handful of starters, mains, desserts and drinks which means this restaurant can cater to almost everyone’s needs and wants.

Food Review 

When I visited this restaurant I had opted to go for a Main Meal and Dessert which was the Breakfast Burger and the Sundae. 

In terms of the Meal Quality both items ordered were delicious and had great portion sizes.

• The Breakfast Burger was delicious as it consisted of 6oz Premium Steak burger, Bacon, egg and melted cheddar as well as this the Burger came with a side of Chips and was served in a brioche bun which was absolutely delicious. This Burger tasted amazing and each item within the burger definitely went well with each other and was well cooked as it melted in the mouth.

• The Ice Cream Sundae was amazing as it consisted of Fresh Vanilla Ice cream with a waffle and strawberry sauce, in terms of the taste it was absolutely delicious as the ice cream was fresh and when it was delivered to the table it wasn’t melted and had such a lovely dairy and vanilla taste with an amazing strawberry sauce which ensured it wasn’t too plain and the sauce definitely complimented the ice cream well.

Customer Service Review

The Customer Service within this restaurant could have definitely been improved! When we arrived at the restaurant we had a pre booked table which wasn’t ready for us arriving meaning we had to stand and wait for 10 minutes so they could ensure the table was clean and that the cutlery was prepped.

During the ordering process once we sat down we were asked if we would like any drinks which we ordered, however after this we waited quite a while to be asked if we were ready to order food and was not a quick process.

After we finished our meals we had waited for almost half an hour for the staff to clear the table and ask us if we were having dessert which was not appealing as we were sitting with dirty dishes on our table even though the restaurant was not too busy.

The Restaurant was definitely understaffed as there were only 2 staff members on shift and at one point were both dealing with one customer who also had a complaint about the time taken, however we were informed by the waitress that this was due to management sending a handful of staff members home because it wasn’t busy. This was no fault to the waitress who was very apologetic and seemed very upset with the working environment as she explained how stressful it was with just 2 staff members which we didn’t blame her for when it was clearly a management issue!

Conclusion 

To conclude this restaurant review if you are looking for quality food with great portion sizes and a menu with plenty of choices this restaurant could be for you !

However in terms of customer service and Turnaround Time if you value great customer service and quick turnaround which most people treasure when visiting restaurants I would consider re thinking as due to management it was clearly understaffed and this was when the restaurant was quiet so as you can imagine when it is more busy you might have to wait way longer! 

Therefore in terms of Star rating I would rate this Restaurant  3 stars out of 5!
